Post-it

In 1968, Dr. Spencer Silver , a scientist in 3M , was attempting to develop a super-strong adhesive , but instead he accidentally created a low.tack, but in 1974 a colleague of his , Art Fry, came up with the idea of using the adhesive to anchor his bookmark in his hymnbook. In 1977 they but the product out to the public in 4 cities under the name "Press 'n Peel" but its results were disappoinnting. A year passed and in 1978 , 3M gave free examples to some persons and 94% of them would buy the product. In 1980 the product was know out in stores as Post-It Notes in United States and in 1981 Post-it was launched to Canada and Europe.





A post-it note or sticky note, is a piece of paper with a re-adherable strip on the back. Now a days you can find it in different sizes and colors but originaly it was a 3in yellow paper. It was invented by invented by Dr. Spencer Silver and co-created by Art Fry.

Arthur Fry - Biography

          Arthur Fry , also known as Art fry , is an inventor and a scientist. He is co-creator of post-it. He was born in Minnesota ( born 19 August 1931) but he grew up in  a small town located in Iowa and later in Kansas city. He finished his education in 1950 and moved back to Minnesota. Arthur went to the university of Minnesota majority in Chemical Engineering.  In 1953 he started working for 3M company undergraduate, he work there until 1990. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren . He is famous because of his invention , it might be the most useful office supply since the paper clip.
